  2. Americas*Dates, times and prices
  3. Europe*Dates, times and prices

(* You’re free to join from outside these regions but it might mean an early start or a late finish.)

Why take the course?
The chances of you reading a screenwriting book or attending a short screenwriting course and being able to go away and write a professional screenplay are slim to zero. What you need to make the transition from theory to practice is feedback. Regular, reliable, insightful, constructive feedback. And that’s what you’ll get in this online Script Workshop.

What does it involve?
Each week in an intimate group of 9 students, you’ll get story notes on your film or TV project and guidance on how to move forward.

Just as valuable – you’ll get to hear feedback on the work of your peers, further deepening your understanding of screen storytelling.

Do you need to enter with a finished script?
It’s called a Script Workshop but you don’t need to have finished – or even have started – an actual screenplay to join the program. All you need is an idea to work on. The focus is on story development – creating a solid foundation for a compelling screenplay.

What will you emerge with?
That depends. If your story is fairly advanced to begin with, you might finish a screenplay. But, for most people, the focus will be on producing a feature film outline or TV Series Bible. Once that is sound, writing the script is the easy part.

What level do you need to be at?
While you don’t have to have written a screenplay to join the Workshop, the course is not for the complete novice. If you haven’t been to a Screenwriting Course and/or read some screenwriting books, you won’t be in a position to benefit from the Workshop. If you’re just starting out, you might like to consider attending Cracking Story or doing the online Cracking Story 2: Script Analysis course. If you’re not sure, email me with details of your experience.
