Here you’ll find a bunch of stuff relating to screenwriting.
In his book, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Joseph Campbell identified the story elements that were common to all the great stories across cultures and generations. Chris Vogler in the The Writer’s Journey applied Campbell’s thinking to the movies and came up with 12 steps that define a classic story structure. These 12 steps provide the foundation for our Screenwriting Courses.
Here you can download my analyses of how the great movies use the 12 steps of the Hero’s Journey. To be honest, they’re a bit rudimentary, but hopefully you’ll find them a bit useful.
Here is a list of the best books that have most helped me as a screenwriter. Not all of these books are Screenwriting Manuals, but they have all in some way enhanced my understanding of storytelling, creativity, the film business – or myself.
